Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is a higher state agency and educational board, located in Raipur Chhattisgarh. CGBSE was established on 1 November 2000, Chhattisgarh government School Education Department was upgraded to Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education on 20 September 2001 under Legislative Notification No. 10-5-/13/2001-Raipur-20-7-2001.The CGBSE organized its first board examination in the year 2002. If the stats are to be believed, more than 10 lakh aspirants register to appear for the CGBSE Board examinations, every year. CGBSE has organized the examination for class 1oth and 12th every year. After completing the examination board has declared the results. The Chhattisgarh Board is greatly responsible for management and regulation of Secondary and Higher secondary education. The cgbse board had conducted the matriculation examinations from March 5 to 28, and for class 12 it was from March 7 to April 2. Over 6 lakh candidates in total had appeared for the examinations. This year, the results were announced by education minister Kedar Kashyup and the pass percentage for class 10 stood at 68.04 percent and class 12, it was 77 percent. The girls performed better than boys – with the pass percentage of boys in class 10 standing at 66 percent and for girls, it was 69.40 percent. Similarly, in class 12th, the pass percentage was 74.45 for boys and for girls it was 79.40.
