Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) is a state possibility board of school and technical education. The Directorate of Technical Education (cgdte Raipur cg state gov in) was set up on the formation of Union Territory, Chhattisgarh. This Directorate is headed conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education in Chhattisgarh. Director Technical Education is functioning as Head of the Department and is the appointing authority for Group C and D posts of the Directorate and Technical institutions functioning under its control. Director Technical Education has been declared as Nodal Agency for the pensioner benefits and medical fields. Directorate of Technical Education Raipur under the administrative control of SD & TE Department, Government of Chhattisgarh of the State Looks after education at Technical Institutes/Colleges, Degree, Diploma and ITI level. The directorate has offers Vocational Education, Training in order to prepare the aspirants for self-employment. The Department also promotes professional courses program in Government and Private Sector.

Being centrally located, mineral-rich and power surplus state, it has caught the attention of investors all over the country, and also abroad, to establish their industry in the state. Besides imparting technical education for effectively exploiting the abundant natural resources, the Directorate of Technical Education is committed for ascertaining value based quality education and for facilitating the planned development of research and development (R&D) work.
The courses and program of Engineering, Technology, Management, Architecture, Computer Science and Pharmacy have been included under technical education of state Chhattisgarh. At present in DTE are 3 Government Engineering and Technical Colleges, 3 Autonomous-Self Financed Colleges and 26 Private Engineering Colleges in the state. These colleges have a total intake capacity of around 10,000 seats and they conduct various bachelor's degree (UG) and Master degree (PG) courses program in Engineering. Along with there are a total of 13 Government Polytechnics in the state and it is expected that the number will increase in every year. Now the cgdte notification intake capacity of Polytechnic institutes in the state is 2385. In addition to that, there are M. Tech, ME, MBA, MCA, D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, and M. Pharmacy courses in the state, which are being run by the private sector.
