About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH), Hyderabad
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is a pioneer state higher technical institution, focusing of engineering, located in Hyderabad, Telangana the state of India. The JNTU Hyderabad was established on 2nd October 1972, by an act of Telangana State Legislature. JNTUH has officially accredited and affiliated by UGC (University Grant Commission). JNTUH has as many as 420 conducted Colleges spread over the 10 districts of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, namely, Adilabad, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Warangal. The university name has come after Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. JNTUH has been deemed a self-affiliating one after Act No 30 of the approval of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities Act, 2008 which came into force on 18th August 2008. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University provides 25 B. Tech. Courses in various engineering branches. The University also offers 77 PG programs namely M. Tech, MSIT, MBA, MCA and MSc. Apart from this, the University provides Research -Oriented courses like Master of Science (MS) in Engineering, M. Phil in Science and Humanities and Ph. D in all streams. The University has a provision for Full Time Internal and Part Time External Registration for Research courses. In the case of external registration, the aspirants must be employed in any research and development organization or educational institutions having facilities for carrying out the research at their workplace.
