About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUA), Anantapur

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is the state government higher technical institution, located in Anantapur Andhra Pradesh. JNTUA was established in the year 2008 by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh Act of the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh - A.P. Govt. Act No.30 of 2008. JNTUA has officially accredited and affiliated by UGC (University Grant Commission). The act separated the erstwhile JNTUA into four different Universities viz. It has been established to develop and nurture a Technical Education System in the four districts of Rayalaseema viz., Anantapur, Chittoor, YSR, Kurnool districts and SPSR Nellore.JNTU Anantapur has begun their functioning from the 155-acre campus of one of its Constituent College at Anantapur, since August 2008. It is a Multicampus University covering the five districts of Rayalaseema, namely, Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Potti Sreeramulu Nellore districts. Besides regular courses, the JNTU Anantapur provides various part-time courses and program. The research programs are offered by the university in the fields of Technology, Science, Pharmacy, Management studies and Humanities leading to PhD degrees. There are four hostels for men and two for women with reasonable accommodation and facilities for the outstation aspirants. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur has 71 conducted Colleges. The university was shifted to the present permanent buildings accommodating the Administrative block, Laboratories, the Engineering Departments, Library and the Hostel blocks.
