KL University formally known as KLEF (Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation) or it was renamed Koneru Lakshmaiah University. KL University has situated in a 44-acre campus abutting Buckingham Canal, almost 9 km. from the Vijayawada railway station, at vaddeswarm, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. It was established nearing in the year 1980 affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University. It was conducted by the late Sri Koneru Lakshmaiah and Sri K.Satyanarayana at Vaddeswaram. It is the only Engineering University in the state of Andhra Pradesh permitted by AICTE to admit Foreign Nationals. It has the Flexible Academic system wherein aspirants can do courses in specialized streams as per their choice leading to major, minor and dual degree courses. The Faculty of the University, numbering 375+, out of which 78 are doctorates and 150+ are pursuing their Ph, D. is one of the best in any Engineering University. The University is a member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) which gives an edge to it in the Industry - Institution interaction. The KL University has provided 100% placements in 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and progressing towards 100% during 2008-09.
