The Director of Public Instruction (D.P.I.) has conducted the technical education also at the time of formation of Andhra Pradesh. To help speed up the process of development, a Board in the name and style of "State Board of Technical Education and Training" was created vide G.O.Ms.No.371 End-dated 26.2.1957. The Joint Director (Technical Education) DPI used to act as the new formed Board. The Board is formed as a statutory body under the A.P. Education Act-1982 (act 1 of 1982), an act of assembly, in present form, vide G.O.Ms.No.140 dated 24.4.1984.
The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad will conduct "Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)" for the candidates seeking admission in all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Non-Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics/institutes for the academic year 2019. The State Board of Technical Education and Training, (SBTET) AP Hyd will conduct (EECC-2009) Entrance Examination for admission in First Year of three-year Correspondence Cum Contact Course (CCC) for candidates seeking admission in Diploma level.
