Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences is an exceptional medical institution and one of the reputed hospitals in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. In short form, it is known as SVIMS. This is a speciality hospital whose foundation stone was laid by N. T. Ram Rao, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 18 April 1986, and the hospital started from 26 February 1993 by an Act of A.P. Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences was recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI). Further, in 2006, the institution is upgraded with AIIMS, New Delhi by Government of India. The institution spread in a 107.04-acre campus and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Nominal cost to the poor its major objectives includes service, training and education in advanced medical sciences and technology. For this purpose, SVIMS has well trained, dedicated faculty to serve the poor and needy patients, not only but also many of the neighbouring states as well. The University imparts medical education through its constituent institutes, namely - Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, the College of Nursing and the College of Physiotherapy College has developed a leading institute research and health care services. It aims to be a centre of excellence for providing medical care, educational and research facilities of the field of medical science. SVIMS has been recognized by Medical Council of India since 2003 for conducting various graduate and postgraduate degree level courses. In 2006, the Government of India included SVIMS as one of the institutions for graduation at par with AIIMS, New Delhi under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) scheme.

MBBS login
At the UG level, SVIMS offers MBBS programs for half a year (including internships). Candidates with valid score in NEET are eligible for admission. 10 + 2 minimum qualification criteria for admission with physics, chemistry and biology. Candidates seeking admission cannot be less than 17 years old.
MD Admission
At the post-graduate level, the university offers MD for three years in various subjects. There is a minimum eligibility criterion for admission to MBBS degrees from a recognized university. Entry is based on NT PG scores, followed by shortlisted candidates. 50% seats are reserved for NEET PG's suitable candidates whereas the remaining seats are filled.
