About Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU), Tirupati
Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) is a residential and affiliating University. S.V.V.U. came in existence on 12.07.2006. The University is the byproduct of primarily, the sincere efforts of Shri Rameshwar Thakur Ji, former governor of Andhra Pradesh, and secondarily of the positive responses by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which is committed to Sanatana Hindu Dharma. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (T.T.D) is also the sponsoring body of the University. SVV University has been established to preserve, promote and promote oral traditions of Vedic, Agamic and Cognate Literature, with focus on right intonations. Life in the technology-driven contemporary society of challenges, meeting with the aim of conducting research and propagate the relevance of knowledge system and the wisdom contained in the Vedic Literature. Furthermore, the ideals enshrined in the Vedas promote Universal peace, harmony and brotherhood. Today, the need of the hour is to protect the most efficient and pious literature of Vedas Sri Venkateswara Vedic University has started this endeavour through, not only just teaching but through research and publication, as well. While strengthening the tradition of recitation in Vedas, Agamas and Paurohithya, the University wants to provide comprehensive Vedic Scholars, who understand the Mantras they recite. With this intention, the Vedic University has started degree and PG courses in Vedic Languages. Through the program Vedasandesa, the University is trying to speed up the common people. The University provides Sastri (B.A.), Acharya (M.A.), Visishtacharya (M.Phil.) And Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) courses.

Sri Venkateswara Vedic University offers degree and diploma courses to aspirants at undergraduate (Under Graduate), postgraduate (Post Graduate) and doctorate (PhD) level. The university provides traditional and modern courses to aspirants. Traditional courses are related to Vedic studies whereas modern courses are in computer science and English language.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Under Graduate & Post Graduate Courses Students applying for pre-degree courses should be at least 15 years of age (not exceeding 17 years of age).
To secure admission in traditional courses, aspirants should have adequate knowledge of the respective Agamic, Cognate and Vedic literature/scripture/subject. For Post Graduate courses (modern), aspirants should be of at least 20 years of age and have completed their education 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 or any other equivalent (level) accepted by the UGC.
