About Vikram University, Ujjain
Vikram University is a state government public university, located in Ujjain Madhya Pradesh. Vikram University was established in Ujjain on the 1st March 1957. Vikram University is affiliated by UGC (University Grant Commission) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university apex body of NAAC has awarded the Grade of "A" to the university. This university has been named after the famous Indian ruler Raja Vikramaditya. The university was ranked in the 101-150 band among universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework ranking of 2018. The foundation stone of Vikram University was laid by the then Home Minister of India Shri Govind Vallabh Pant on Tuesday, on the 23rd of October, 1956. The Ujjain city is known for its antiquity and its rich cultural and religious traditions. It has also been an ancient seat of learning and study. Therefore, after independence, a galaxy of personalities urged upon the Central Government to establish a university at Ujjain.
