The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board conducts the ASRB NET or ICAR ASRB NET Exam annually to determine the eligibility of candidates for Lecturer / Assistant Professor roles across state agricultural universities and other recognized agricultural institutions. 

ASRB NET Important Date 2026

The ASRB NET Notification 2026 is scheduled for release in August 2026, alongside the official registration dates for the ASRB NET 2026 Exam. The preliminary examination is tentatively planned for November 2026, while the mains examination is slated for March 2027.

ASRB NET Application Form 2026

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board conducts the ASRB NET or ICAR NET examination once a year. Eligible candidates must apply online by submitting their correctly filled application form along with the prescribed application fee before the deadline. Online registration dates for the ASRB NET 2026 Exam will be officially announced with the ASRB NET Notification 2026. 

ASRB NET 2026 Application Fees

Applicants are required to pay the specified application fees to successfully submit the ASRB NET 2026 Application Form. Any application submitted without the applicable fee will be summarily rejected. 

Steps to Apply for ASRB NET 2026

Interested candidates planning to appear for the examination should carefully review the step-by-step online application registration process.

1. Use the application form link available on the official website https://www.asrb.org.in.
2. In the application form, select whether you are applying for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6), or STO (T-6), or any combination of these.
3. If you choose ARS/SMS (T-6)/STO (T-6), you must indicate your preference order. This choice cannot be changed later.
4. Enter the personal details- Name, father's name, Aadhar card etc.
5. Submit the required documents, Mater's degree, photo, sign etc.
6. Pay the application fee and save the application form.

ASRB NET 2026 Selection Process

• National Eligibility Test- Candidates have to clear only one paper of the relevant discipline.
• ARS, SMS (T-6), and STO (T-6)- The selection process will be based on the marks obtained on Mains and Interview

ASRB NET 2026 Exam Pattern 

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board prescribes the exam pattern for NET, ARS, SMS (T-6), and STO (T-6). Candidates should review these patterns thoroughly to understand the structure, total marks, and duration of the test.

For NET Exam

The ASRB NET 2026 Exam will feature 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with a negative marking scheme deducting one-third (⅓) of the marks for every incorrect answer. Complete details regarding the exam pattern are provided in the table below.  

For ARS, SMS (T-6) and STO (T-6)

The ARS, SMS, and STO selection processes consist of three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Prelims is a qualifying test comprising 150 questions for 150 marks, featuring a ⅓ negative marking for incorrect responses. Candidates who qualify proceed to the Mains exam worth 300 marks, followed by a 45-mark personal interview upon clearing Mains.
