Assam TET Exam Pattern 2026

Every examination has a unique structure, and the Assam TET is no exception. The exam is divided into two distinct categories as per the official notification: Paper-I for primary teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper-II for upper primary teachers (Classes 6 to 8).

Assam TET Exam Pattern 2026 for Lower Primary

Assam TET Paper-I is designed for candidates aspiring to teach at the primary level (Classes 1–5).

  1. All 150 questions will be of the MCQ type; each question will carry 1 mark, total marks will be 150.
  2. 150 Minutes for Paper-1 and 150 Minutes for Paper-2, an additional 20 minutes per hour will be provided for visually impaired candidates.
  3. A candidate is required to score 60% i.e., 90 marks out of 150, to qualify for the Assam TET 2026. However, for SC/ST(Hills)/ ST(Plains)/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH), there will be a relaxation of 5%. Thus, for these candidates, the qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 marks.
  4. There will be “No Negative Marking.”
  5. Medium of Questions will be- Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, and English

Assam TET Exam Pattern 2026 for Upper Primary

Assam TET Paper-II is specifically for candidates who intend to teach at the upper primary level (Classes 6–8).
