How is CAT Percentile Calculated?

CAT percentiles are calculated based on a relative performance model, comparing an individual's score against all other test-takers. Below, we explain the methodology used to determine these rankings.

1. Each candidate receives marks based on the specific marking scheme outlined in the CAT 2024 question paper.

2. For every correct answer, candidates are awarded +3 marks, while each incorrect answer carries a negative marking penalty of -1.

3. To ensure fairness, raw scores for each section and the overall exam are first normalized. These normalized figures are then converted into percentile scores, which are finally displayed on your official scorecard.
