NRA CET 2022 Exam: The Union Cabinet has finalized plans to conduct the 1st Edition of the NRA CET Exam by the end of 2022, aiming to streamline government recruitment. Announced via a Press Information Bureau (PIB) release, the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will serve as the primary body for this annual exam. This test will replace existing preliminary-level screenings for non-gazetted positions. Test scores remain valid for three years, simplifying the application process by allowing candidates to prepare for one unified exam instead of multiple separate assessments.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions on May 22, 2022, via the official PIB portal @https://pib.gov.in/, confirmed that the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is preparing to launch a computer-based Common Eligibility Test (CET) for non-gazetted government recruitment by the end of the year.

NRA CET Exam 2022

The central government is introducing a common preliminary examination for non-gazetted posts to replace multiple entry-level tests. By consolidating these requirements, the CET score will serve as the primary screening tool to shortlist candidates for advanced selection stages across various government departments. 

Key guidelines for the NRA CET 2022 are outlined below:

1. The National Recruitment Agency will officially conduct the inaugural edition of the Common Eligibility Test.

2. The NRA CET acts as a single-tier screening process to shortlist applicants for Tier-2 or Mains examinations conducted by individual recruiting bodies. 

3. The exam will be available in 12 languages, with at least one examination center established in every district across the country.

4. The specific format of the NRA CET will be finalized based on the total number of registered candidates. 

5. Initial implementation will cover recruitment for SSC, Railways, and Banking sectors.

6. The NRA CET is exclusively for non-gazetted recruitment. 

7. Recruitment for gazetted posts and PO positions in public sector banks will continue to be managed by their respective agencies.

Many candidates are curious about the terminology surrounding this new test. NRA stands for “National Recruitment Agency” and CET refers to the “Common Eligibility Test,” which replaces the Tier-1 or Preliminary exams previously managed separately by Banking, Railway, and SSC boards.
