CTET Result 2026 Applicability

(i) The CTET qualification is mandatory for Central Government schools, including KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, and schools managed by UTs such as Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Delhi.

(ii) Unaided private schools may also opt to use CTET scores as a recruitment benchmark for their teaching staff.

(iii) State-run or aided schools typically prioritize their respective State TET exams; however, State Governments may choose to accept CTET results if they do not conduct their own state-level eligibility test.

(iv) According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws 53, all teachers appointed to Classes I to VIII in CBSE-affiliated schools must possess a valid CTET or State TET certificate in accordance with NCTE guidelines.
