EMRS PGT Selection Process 2026

Selection for the 1,460 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions involves a two-stage examination process. While the Tier 1 exam serves as a qualifying hurdle, the final merit list is determined exclusively by your performance in the Tier 2 examination.

• Tier -I -Preliminary (Qualifying) Examination
• Tier-II – Subject Knowledge Examination

EMRS PGT Exam Pattern 2026

To excel in the EMRS PGT Exam, candidates must master the exam pattern 2026. Understanding the marking scheme, question types, and topic weightage is crucial for building the confidence needed to clear both Tier 1 and Tier 2 successfully.

EMRS PGT Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2026

• The exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks + 20 Language Competency Test
• Exam Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours)
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.
• Language Competency Test is qualifying in nature, with a minimum of 40% marks in each language. If the candidate didn’t qualify in the Language Competency Test, then other subjects will not be evaluated.

EMRS PGT Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2026

Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio against available vacancies. Success in the Tier 1 Preliminary examination is a mandatory prerequisite to qualify for the subject-specific Tier 2 examination.
