KVS Exam Pattern 2026 (Tier 1)

The KVS Tier 1 Exam is structured into six sections, with the complete KVS Exam Pattern detailed here. Aspirants should focus on their specialized subject areas, as these sections carry the most weight.

  1. There will be 100 Questions asked in the holds as a complete KVS Tier 1 exam.
  2. Each question comprises 3 marks, and there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
  3. The duration to complete KVS PGT Exam is 2 hours (120 minutes).
  4. The exam will be a pen-paper mode (offline OMR based).

  • Tier-2 for all the posts will be Subject Knowledge Examination (a combination of Pen-Paper and OMR-based)
  • In objective-type questions in Tier-2, each question carries 1 mark and there will also be negative marking for wrong answers; 1/4th marks (i.e. 0.25 marks) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
