OTET Exam Date 2026 Out

Following the latest official notice, the OTET 2026 exam date has been revised. The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 is now confirmed for 28th June 2026. Paper I will be held from 9 am to 11:30 am, and Paper II is scheduled from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Additional information, including exam center guidelines, will be provided with the admit card.

OTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

While the Odisha TET is primarily an eligibility test, applicants must satisfy specific criteria when completing the OTET 2026 application form. Although there is no specific age limit for candidates, meeting the minimum educational qualifications is mandatory. Detailed OTET 2026 eligibility requirements for both primary and upper primary levels are provided below.

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-I (Primary Teacher for Classes I to V)

  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), following NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes VI to VIII)

  • Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

OTET 2026 Application Fee

The OTET application process is only considered complete upon successful payment of the application fee. The fee is Rs. 400/- for SC/ST candidates and Rs. 600/- for general category applicants. All payments must be processed online using the integrated HDFC payment gateway.

Steps to Apply Online for the OTET Exam 2026

  1. Visit the official website of the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack at www.bseodisha.ac.in.
  2. On the homepage tab on Examination >OTET Examination> Online Application for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test OTET- 2026> Go to Link.
  3. Candidates are redirected to a new page. If you have already registered, click the “Login” button; otherwise, click on “New Registration” to register.
  4. On clicking “New Registration”, the OTET-2026 page will be displayed.  Enter your name, password (to be created by you), and Mobile No. & e-mail ID, and then click on the Submit tab. (You will have to enter OTP, which shall be sent to your registered mobile no and email ID).
  5. Submit your application forms by providing personal information, eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, and address.
  6. Click on the Payment & Declaration tab to submit the application fee as per category, and then click on the Final Submit tab.

OTET 2026 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The examination pattern for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is structured as follows.

  • There are 150 questions for Papers 1 and 2 each.
  • The duration of the examination is 150 minutes.
  • Each correct answer gives 1 mark.
  • There will be no negative marking.
