Exam Pattern & Structure

Part B consists of 100 questions (100 marks) with a negative marking of 1/4th mark, covering General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability, English, Punjabi, ICT, and Punjab History and Culture.

Selection Process & Tie-Breaking Criteria

The selection process consists of a competitive written examination followed by mandatory document verification. Candidates passing the MCQ exam will be called for counseling to verify their documents.

In case of tied marks, the following rules apply:

  • If candidates have equal marks, their date of birth will be considered
  • The older candidate will have higher merit if their ages are the same
  • The candidate with higher educational qualification marks will be given priority
  • If there is still a tie, the candidate with higher marks in 10th will be ranked higher
  • Candidates passing the MCQ exam will be called for counseling to verify their documents

Salary Structure and Training Stipend

The salary is under Pay Matrix Scale Level-2 with an initial starting pay of Rs. 19,900. During the one-year institutional training and six-month field training, trainees receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000.
