Before proceeding, all applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria thoroughly. Only candidates meeting the predefined academic and professional standards will be eligible for the selection process. 

Educational Qualification (as on 01/02/2026)

To be eligible for the RBI Assistant 2026 exam, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). Proficiency in computer applications and the local language of the relevant state or Union Territory is also mandatory.

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The RBI Assistant recruitment process consists of three distinct phases:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The Preliminary Exam consists of three core sections: Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and the English Language.

The Mains Exam evaluates candidates across five comprehensive sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness.

A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for every incorrect answer. Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty.

Q. Does the Preliminary Exam score count towards the final selection?

Ans. No. The Preliminary Exam is exclusively a qualifying round; these marks are not factored into the final merit list.

Q. Is there an interview or document verification?

Ans. There is no interview phase. Final selection is determined by your performance in the Mains Exam and successful completion of the LPT.
