Eligibility Criteria and Age Relaxations

Candidates must hold a valid undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provisionally. The age limit is 20 to 28 years (born no earlier than April 2, 1997, and no later than April 1, 2005).

Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

All question papers for the SBI Clerk exam are bilingual, available in both English and Hindi. Negative marking applies to incorrect answers in prelims and mains, where one-fourth (0.25) of the assigned marks are deducted for every wrong response. Furthermore, there are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects, and sectional cut-offs are not enforced.

Salary Package and Perks

The starting salary package for an SBI Clerk is approximately Rs. 46,000, governed by pay scale Rs. 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The initial basic pay is Rs. 26,730/- (which includes two advance increments granted to graduate applicants). Additionally, appointed Junior Associates are not eligible for Inter-Circle or Inter-State transfers. Trained SBI apprentices receive bonus marks equivalent to 2.5% of the maximum score (5 marks out of 200) in the Main Examination.
