Steps for SSC CGL 2026 Apply Online

The SSC CGL application process must be completed exclusively online via the official SSC portal at https://ssc.gov.in or through the 'My SSC' mobile application available on the Google Play Store.

Part 1. Register as a New User (One-Time Registration)

First-time applicants must click the "New User? Register Now" link on the homepage to initiate the One-Time Registration (OTR) by providing the required personal details.

Note: The SSC One-Time Registration (OTR) is a permanent profile valid for all future SSC examinations. 

Part 2. SSC CGL Online Form Filling

  1. Return to the SSC website and log in using your Registration ID and Password. If already registered, use your existing credentials to log in.
  2. Now click on “Apply” appearing on the right side of the homepage. After that, click on “Apply” in front of Combined Graduate Level Examination,2026.
  3. A new page with url- https://ssc.gov.in/login appears on the screen. Candidates are required to log in with the provided Registration ID, date of birth and password to complete registration for SSC CGL 2026.
  4. Click on submit button to submit your online application form for SSC CGL. It is advised that candidates verify their details before submitting the form. All the candidates will be issued a Registration ID for SSC CGL 2026 exam.

Part 3. Upload Documents

After registration, candidates must upload their photograph and signature in strict compliance with the Staff Selection Commission's technical specifications.

Photograph - The candidate's photograph must be taken against a plain white or light-colored background. Live photos must be captured according to the current guidelines. 

Signature - The signature must be written in black or blue ink on white paper. Scanned copies must be in JPG format, sized between 1 KB and 12 KB, with a resolution of 40x60 pixels.

Other required documents: Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.), Caste/Community Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC), Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates), and Discharge Certificate (for ex-servicemen).

NEW: Candidates are now required to capture a live photograph directly while filling out the application form. Please sit in front of the camera and follow all on-screen instructions precisely to capture your photo.

Part 4. Fee Submission 

  1. Now the candidates are required to the application fee.
  2. The fee is to be paid through online mode (Debit/Credit/Net Banking/Wallet, etc.).

Documents Required for SSC CGL Apply Online

To complete the SSC CGL application, ensure you have the following information and documents ready:

a) Active Mobile Number (for OTP verification)

b) Active Email ID (for OTP verification)

c) Aadhaar number. If unavailable, provide an alternative government-issued ID (original document verification will be required later).

Important Points to Remember 

  1. The application process is entirely online. No other mode of application will be accepted.
  2. Email ID and mobile number should be kept active for any future correspondence. The authorities will communicate with candidates through Email and SMS.
  3. Evidence for claims made by the candidate while applying online should be uploaded by the candidate at the time of registration itself. The same will be verified subsequently at the time of the Certificate Verification and Interview process
  4. Candidates must fill out the complete form before the last date of online mode.
  5. Save the Application and Acknowledgement documents for future reference.
  6. Candidates should indicate their order of preferences at this stage. No requests for change in this connection shall be entertained.

SSC CGL Application Form Correction 2026

A specific window for correcting application errors will be provided. Note that correction fees are Rs. 200 for the first attempt and Rs. 500 for the second attempt. No changes will be permitted after the window closes.
