SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2026

  • SSC MTS Paper-I is an online paper having multiple-choice questions in sections: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Aptitude, and General Awareness.
  • The entire paper consists of a total of 90 questions and 270 marks. 
  • The new SSC MTS Paper-I Exam will be conducted in 2 Sessions (Session I and Session II)
  • Both Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted.
  • Not attempting any session will disqualify the candidate.

SSC MTS Paper-I Exam Pattern: Important Points

  1. The total number of marks is 270 as per the latest pattern.
  2. Paper- I will be an objective type(Multiple Choice Questions).
  3. The questions will be set in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages for Session I and the General Awareness Section of Session II.
  4. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 and there will be no negative marking in Session 1
  5. The timing for visually handicapped cerebral palsy candidates is 45 Minutes each session.

SSC MTS Havaldar PET & PST

Candidates applying for Havaldar roles are required to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) following their performance in the SSC MTS Tier-1 exam. The following standards for the Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN are mandated by the SSC MTS 2026 notification.
