UPPSC Mains Exam Date 2026 Out

A total of 11,727 candidates have qualified for the upcoming mains exam. The official schedule was released on 24th February 2026 by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on their official portal, http://uppsc.up.nic.in/. As per the official notification, the mains examination will be conducted in two shifts daily (Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM) from 29th March to 1st April 2026.

Educational Qualifications for UP PCS

To apply for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification by the application deadline. Specific educational qualifications by post are as follows:

(ii) Valid registration with the Bar Council or an affiliated Bar Association, supported by a two-year practice experience certificate issued by the relevant authority.

5Technical Assistant (Geology)

Essential Qualifications for specialized posts:

(I) A Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Geology or Applied Geology, or a Diploma in Applied Geology from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

(ii) Preferential Qualification: Research experience or field training conducted by the Geological Survey of India.

6Technical Assistant (Geophysics)Post graduate degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology or applied Geology (with physics, Mathematics at the B.Sc. level) from a university established by law in India.
7Tax Assessment OfficerGraduation Degree in Commerce or Economics with 55% marks from a university recognized by Law in India.

Age Limit for UP PCS (as on 01/07/2025)

Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of July 1, 2025. Applicants must have been born no earlier than 02 July 1985 and no later than 01 July 2004.

UPPSC 2026 Selection Procedure

The UPPSC PCS 2026 Prelims and Mains exams will be conducted in offline mode statewide across three stages:

Important Exam Guidelines:

1. Paper II of the Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature, with a minimum passing requirement of 33%.

2. Candidates must appear for both papers in the Preliminary Examination to be considered.

3. The merit list for the Preliminary stage is determined solely by the marks obtained in Paper I.

UPPCS 2026 Salary/ Pay Scale

The salary structure for these posts ranges from Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800 (Grade Pay Rs. 4,600) up to Rs. 15,600 - Rs. 39,100 (Grade Pay Rs. 5,400).
