The UPPSC PCS examination follows a structured three-tier process, requiring candidates to successfully clear the Prelims before proceeding to the Mains and Personality Test (Interview).
Prelims Exam Pattern
- The Prelims exam of UPPSC PCS 2026 is an offline mode of examination, with 2 papers in different shifts
- The total marks allotted for each paper is 200, and the total time allotted for the completion of each Paper of the Prelims exam is 2 hours
- The total number of questions in Paper-1 (General Studies I) is 150, while Paper-2 is of 100 marks.

UPPCS 2026 Salary/Pay Scale
The pay scale for positions under the Combined State Services ranges from Rs. 9,300–34,800 (Grade Pay Rs. 4,600/-, except Naib Tehsildar with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200/-) up to Rs. 15,600–39,100/- (Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/-).
Under the Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination, salary structures, grade pay, and post statuses are detailed as follows:
