Educational Qualifications

4Law Officer

A Candidate for direct recruitment to the post of Law Officer must possess the following qualifications:-

(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a University established by law in India.

(ii) Registration in the concerned Bar Council or the affiliated Bar Association recognised by the Bar Council of India and two years practice experience certificate
issued/Certified by Bar Council/Bar Association.

5Technical Assistant (Geology)

Essential Qualification:-

(I) A master's degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geology or Applied Geology or Diploma in Applied Geology from Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad.

(ii) Preferential :- Research experience or field training conducted by Geological Survey of India

6Technical Assistant (Geophysics)Post graduate degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology or applied Geology (with physics, Mathematics at the B.Sc. level) from a university established by law in India.
7Tax Assessment OfficerGraduation Degree in Commerce or Economics with 55% marks from a university recognized by Law in India.

Both the UPPSC Prelims and Mains examinations for UP PCS 2026 will be conducted offline across various centers in the state. The selection procedure comprises 3 consecutive stages:

1. Prelims (Objective/ MCQ)

2. Mains (Written)

3. Personality Test (Interview)

UPPSC 2026 Exam Pattern

The UPPSC PCS examination follows a structured three-tier process, requiring candidates to successfully clear the Prelims before proceeding to the Mains and Personality Test (Interview).

Prelims Exam Pattern

  • The Prelims exam of UPPSC PCS 2026 is an offline mode of examination, with 2 papers in different shifts
  • The total marks allotted for each paper is 200, and the total time allotted for the completion of each Paper of the Prelims exam is 2 hours
  • The total number of questions in Paper-1 (General Studies I) is 150, while Paper-2 is of 100 marks.

UPPCS 2026 Salary/Pay Scale

The pay scale for positions under the Combined State Services ranges from Rs. 9,300–34,800 (Grade Pay Rs. 4,600/-, except Naib Tehsildar with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200/-) up to Rs. 15,600–39,100/- (Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/-).

Under the Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination, salary structures, grade pay, and post statuses are detailed as follows:

Assistant Conservator of Forest – Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100; Grade Pay – Rs. 5,400 (Level 10 in the pay matrix), Group “B”, Gazetted.

Range Forest Officer Services Examination – Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800, Grade Pay – Rs. 4,800 (Level 8 pay matrix 47,600 – 151,100), Group “B”, Gazetted.
