Selection Process for WBP Constable
The selection process for West Bengal Police Constable posts involves a multi-stage approach conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB). Candidates must successfully clear the Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and a final Interview to be considered for the available vacancies.
- Stage 1: Written Examination: Applicants provisionally considered eligible for constable posts will be called for the Written Examination, which consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions. In the written exam, a total of 85 questions for 85 marks will be asked.
- Stage 2: Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Qualified candidates in the written exam will be called for the Physical Measurement Test. In the PMT test, the height, weight, and chest measurement (only for Male candidates) will be tested by using Electronic Machines.
- Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in the Physical Efficiency Test. PET is also qualifying in nature and includes the running event.
- Stage 4: Interviews: In the interview, candidates' general awareness and suitability for public service will be assessed, and candidates’ ability to speak, read, and write in the Bengali/Nepali language will be tested in the interview.
WB Police Constable Physical Measurement Test
Candidates who qualify for the written examination will be invited to the Physical Measurement Test (PMT). During the PMT, applicants will be evaluated based on specific physical standards, including height, weight, and chest measurements (for male candidates). Please note that the PMT is purely qualifying in nature and does not carry additional marks.
