Meet Bianca: a dedicated anthropologist, educator, and mother on a mission to reshape the educational landscape. Drawing from her extensive global travel and volunteer experience, she aims to synthesize diverse educational practices into a holistic system that empowers children's natural curiosity and growth.
Central to her philosophy is the transformative power of outdoor education. Bianca reflects, "I challenged myself to embrace the outdoors. In Africa, working within forest settings and living in tents became my reality. These experiences provided deep inspiration and resilience. Nature helps us feel whole and offers a necessary escape from the relentless pressures of modern society—like the mandate to constantly work or consume. By reconnecting with our environment, we discover a better way to learn, which is the cornerstone of my passion for Outdoor Education."
Bianca acknowledges the hurdles of choosing an unconventional path. Navigating societal expectations while traveling instead of following a traditional academic timeline, or raising her daughter as a single mother, presented real challenges. Yet, she remains immensely proud of her resilience and the strength she found in forging her own unique journey.
Her perspective was profoundly shaped in Kenya, where she observed children overcoming a lack of formal schooling through sheer resourcefulness. "Those children were teaching themselves; they would visit the beach, learn new languages, and often become fluent in seven tongues without ever sitting in a classroom. It showed me that true education often comes from the act of living itself." This eye-opening experience served as a catalyst for her decision to pursue a Master’s programme in Outdoor and Sustainability Education in Sweden.
Armed with global insights, Bianca is eager to embark on this new chapter in Sweden. She plans to use the scholarship provided by Online Result to support her move and further her academic goals alongside her daughter. With this support, she is well-positioned to innovate and inspire the next generation of learners worldwide.
