The Global Student Satisfaction Awards honor universities that provide exceptional educational experiences, based entirely on verified student feedback. By sharing their authentic perspectives, students worldwide help their peers make confident, data-driven decisions about their academic future.
At Online Result, our core mission is to make education accessible and transparent. Through initiatives like these awards, we connect prospective international students with genuine peer insights, empowering them to select the university and study programme that perfectly matches their goals.
How students can review universities on our portals
We have always been committed to providing students with the precise information needed to navigate the complex journey of choosing the right university.
However, we recognized a significant gap: student voices were historically excluded from traditional university rankings. While established metrics from Times Higher Education, TopUniversities, and U.S. News are useful, we believe the conversation about quality in higher education is only complete with student voices.

How do we make sure we get the best university reviews
Since the inception of the Global Student Satisfaction Awards, we have gathered approximately 460,000 student reviews through our dedicated global partnerships:
- ESN (Erasmus Student Network)
- ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management)
- EDUopinions
To maintain data integrity and prevent fraudulent activity, we employ rigorous validation systems, including manual review, email verification, and direct communication with contributors.
Main categories for the student reviews
Each university is evaluated across eight distinct criteria. Ratings range from 1 to 5, with no differentiation between domestic and international student feedback, with one specific exception: category 3 (Quality of student life). Reviews sourced via ESN are excluded from this category to avoid bias from exchange students, who may not undergo the standard admission experience.
Below is an overview of our eight evaluation categories:
| Category | Student Evaluation Criteria |
1 | Overall satisfaction | How would you rate your total university experience? |
2 | Student-teacher interaction | How accessible and supportive were your instructors? |
3 | Quality of student life | How would you describe your daily living experience? |
4 | Career development | Did the university provide adequate support for your professional growth? |
5 | Student diversity | How diverse and inclusive was the campus environment? |
6 | Admission process | How straightforward was the application process for your programme? |
7 | Online classroom experience | How effective was your online learning experience? |
The 2025 Global Student Satisfaction Awards
- Based on the reviews collected during the review period (February to June 2025), we will recognise the leaders in student satisfaction. Give students around the world a voice to rank and select the best educational institutions that deliver outstanding student experiences.
- Help future students in choosing a university abroad based on the reviews of recent graduates orcurrently enrolled students.
- Inspire universities to engage with student feedback and encourage their communities to contribute to greater transparency in study options and the overall quality of global education.
How do we select the nominees for the 2025 awards?
For the Global Student Satisfaction Awards, each institution is nominated in only one category—specifically the one where they achieved their highest score. This methodology promotes a balanced representation of institutional strengths across the diverse spectrum of the student experience.
Eligibility is limited to universities with English-taught programmes hosted on Online Result platforms, ensuring we can accurately verify student reviews. Participation requires a minimum of 10 reviews, while the 'Overall Satisfaction' category demands at least 30 reviews due to its broader scope. Each category features three regional finalists, selected from the following regions:
- The Americas
- EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa)
- APAC (Asia-Pacific)
A single global winner is selected from these regional finalists for each category. Institutions that maintain an average rating of 4.0 or higher are awarded a Badge of Excellence, which is prominently displayed on their Online Result profiles and throughout our networks.
