About National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). NEET-UG is a qualifying entrance exam for students to study any undergraduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges all across India. It held for the first time on 5 May 2013. The eligibility criteria states the candidate should have passed or should be expecting to pass any one of the qualifying examinations equivalent to the 12th standard exam with 50% (General), 40% (SC/ST), 45% (Differently able) aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology. NEET- UG exam is a 3 hour paper wherein the candidates have to answer a single paper consisting of 180 objective type questions from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Every question has an equal importance of 4 marks for a right answer and a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. Candidates can only apply in online mode by logging on to official website of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
