Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research is the name given by the Government of India in Ministry of human Development and Department of Secondary and higher Education, New Delhi on the advice of the University of Grants commission. Meenakshi Ammal Dental College located in Maduravoyal, Chennai conducted the BDS and MDS courses at the time of conferment of this Deemed University status. MAHER-Deemed University; Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute situated in Enathur, Kanchipuram and Meenakshi College of Nursing of Mangadu, Chennai were included.
