The University of Madras is a public state university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the three oldest universities in India. The university was founded on 5 September 1857 by an act of the Legislative Council of India. In 1912 endowments were made to the university to establish departments of Indian History, Archaeology, Comparative Philology and Indian Economics. In that year the university had 17 departments, 30 teachers, and 69 research scholars. It has six campuses in the city: Chepauk, Marina, Guindy, Taramani, Maduravoyal and Chetpet. This University is also known as Madras University and in short it is called as UNOM. It is affiliated with NAAC, UGC and AIU. This University has been growing from strength to strength while widening its teaching and research activities. Presently Prof. R. Thandavan is the vice chancellor of this premier university. The university takes to care for all the infrastructural advancements on regular basis. That’s why today it is fully equipped with the best in class technology. University of Madras Online Exam Form

To secure admission in PG courses including MBA and MCA, the candidates need to qualify Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET 2018). Online applications forms to apply for courses offered by University of Madras will be available on the official website after admission schedule is announced. To apply online, applicants have to register themselves first by entering email ID and mobile number.
