E.g. With 42 attended out of 50 for 75%: ⌊(42 × 100 ÷ 75) - 50⌋ = ⌊56 - 50⌋ = 6 safe skips.
E.g. With 25 attended out of 40 for 75%: ⌈(3000 - 2500) ÷ 25⌉ = 20 consecutive classes.

Under UGC guidelines and ordinances of universities like JNTU, Anna University, and DU, students must attend at least 75% of lectures and labs to take end-semester exams. Falling below 75% without valid medical condonation (which usually covers 65%–74%) results in detention (NE / R-grade).
