About West Bengal University of Health Sciences

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) came into existence on 1st January 2003. The main aim to establish WBUHS is to impart teaching and ensuring proper and systematic instruction, training and research in Modern System of Medicine, Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Ayurvedic System of Medicine, Unani System of Medicine, Nursing Education, Pharmacy Education, Dental Education, Education on Laboratory Technology, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Education on other paramedical courses. The courses offered by WBUHS are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BPT, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing, M.Sc. (Nursing) and B. Pharma. It has also added Post-doctoral Certificate Course in Neuro-anaesthesia, MPT, and Master of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

West Bengal University of Health Sciences offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Postdoctoral courses including the research programmes in Modern System of Medicine, Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Ayurvedic System of Medicine, Unani System of Medicine, Nursing Education, Pharmacy Education, Dental Education, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Education on other paramedical courses such as Occupational Therapy and Prosthetics-Orthotics. Candidates are required to appear in an entrance test depending upon the courses opted by the candidates.
