AP TET Educational Qualification

Primary Teachers
1. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
2. A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the intermediate/senior secondary level—or as permitted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh during teacher education admissions—is applicable for SC, ST, and Differently-Abled candidates.
3. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
5. As per the NCTE guidelines of August 2010, candidates who qualified prior to August 2010 remain eligible based on the aforementioned qualifications and percentage criteria.
6. Graduation (B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com.) passed or currently pursuing the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
Upper Primary Teachers
1. Graduation (B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com.) with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing, a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
2. A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the 12th class/senior secondary level is granted to ST, SC, and Differently-Abled candidates.
3. Quantum relaxations provided under AP State Government orders during teacher education admissions—based on qualifying marks in a B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc. degree—apply to ST, SC, BC, and Differently-Abled candidates.
4. Candidates who do not meet the requisite percentage in their bachelor’s degree but hold a post-graduate degree in relevant school subjects are eligible to apply for Paper 2(A) and 2(B).
5. Graduation (B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com.) with at least 50% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing, a 1-year B.Ed. Special Education course.

AP TET 2026 Paper-I Syllabus
- The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.

- As Language-I other than Language teachers have to choose between Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odiya, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X.

AP TET 2026 Exam Centres
Candidates are required to select their preferred districts during registration. If seating capacity in a chosen district or center is exhausted, candidates must opt for an alternative date and session at available districts. If a candidate fails to select an exam center preference within the prescribed window, the education department will automatically assign one.
