AP TET Educational Qualification

The specific educational qualifications required for teaching posts under the AP TET June cycle exam are detailed below.

Primary Teachers

1. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 

2. A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the intermediate/senior secondary level—or as permitted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh during teacher education admissions—is applicable for SC, ST, and Differently-Abled candidates.

3. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

4. Intermediate or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing the final year of, a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

5. As per the NCTE guidelines of August 2010, candidates who qualified prior to August 2010 remain eligible based on the aforementioned qualifications and percentage criteria.

6. Graduation (B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com.) passed or currently pursuing the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education.

Upper Primary Teachers

1. Graduation (B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com.) with a minimum of 45% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing, a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). 

2. A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the 12th class/senior secondary level is granted to ST, SC, and Differently-Abled candidates.

3. Quantum relaxations provided under AP State Government orders during teacher education admissions—based on qualifying marks in a B.A., B.Com., or B.Sc. degree—apply to ST, SC, BC, and Differently-Abled candidates.

4. Candidates who do not meet the requisite percentage in their bachelor’s degree but hold a post-graduate degree in relevant school subjects are eligible to apply for Paper 2(A) and 2(B).

5. Graduation (B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com.) with at least 50% marks along with a pass in, or currently pursuing, a 1-year B.Ed. Special Education course.

AP TET Exam Certificate Validity

Candidates who successfully qualify the AP TET exam will be awarded official eligibility certificates. Notably, AP TET certificates carry a lifetime validity. Each AP TET certificate features the following details:

1. Candidate's name and address

2. Registration number

3. Month and year of certificate issuance

4. Marks obtained in each individual paper

5. Class level validity (Classes 1 to 5, 6 to 8, or both)

AP TET 2026 Exam Pattern

1. Mode of Exam: The entrance exam will be organised online.
2. Duration of Exam: The entrance exam will be organized for 2 hrs. 30 minutes duration only.
3. Language of Exam: The applicant will have to appear for the entrance exam in English language.
4. Total Number of Questions: The question paper of the entrance exam will contain a total of 150 questions for the applicants to answer.
5. Total Marks: The question paper of the entrance exam will contain a maximum of 150 marks.
6. Type of Questions: The applicants will have to appear at objective-type multiple-choice questions in the entrance exam.
7. Marking Scheme: The applicant will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer given
8. Negative Marking: No provision of negative markings in the entrance exam.

AP TET 2026 Syllabus

AP TET 2026 Paper-I Syllabus

1. The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.
2. Language–I of AP TET Paper-I: Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Odiya are offered as First languages in the schools under the state's syllabus. Candidates have to choose among these 6 languages, and he/she must have studied that language as a study medium or first language up to class X.
3. The candidates who studied the CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.
4. Language II shall be English for all the candidates.
5. The syllabus for Language-I & II shall be based on Proficiency in the Language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
6. The syllabus for Mathematics & Environmental Studies is designed based on topics of Classes I to V.

AP TET 2026 Paper-II(A) and Paper-II(B) Syllabus

1. The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the Elementary level for Paper-II (A) Physical Education Pedagogy for Paper-II (B) will focus on the Elementary level.
2. As Language-I other than Language teachers have to choose between Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odiya, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X.
3. The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.
4. Language Teachers have to choose the Language of their study in Pandit Training concerned under Language-I of TET Paper II-(A).
5. For Physical Education Teacher a candidate has to choose one among five Languages Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Odiya, and Kannada as Language I of TET Paper-II (B).
6. The syllabus for Language-I & II for Paper-II(A) shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.
7. For Physical Education Teachers the syllabus for Language-I & II shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.

AP TET 2026 Exam Centres

Candidates are required to select their preferred districts during registration. If seating capacity in a chosen district or center is exhausted, candidates must opt for an alternative date and session at available districts. If a candidate fails to select an exam center preference within the prescribed window, the education department will automatically assign one. Center allotments are final at the discretion of the department, and requests for changes in centers or exam sessions are strictly prohibited under any circumstances. The application fee for submitting the online form and appearing for the computer-based examination is Rs. 1000/- per paper. 1. Following the conclusion of the written examination, the board authorities prepare and release the official AP TET merit list on their web portal. Typically published within 15 days after the exam concludes, candidates can access the selected candidates file directly on the official website. The board formulates the AP TET Merit List 2026 using predetermined cutoff marks, publishing the qualified candidate list securely online.
