AP TET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

AP TET Educational Qualification
The educational qualification requirements for the AP TET June 2026 cycle are listed below.
Primary Teachers
1. Senior Secondary (Intermediate) with at least 45% marks, along with a completed or final-year 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
2. A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks at the Senior Secondary level is granted to SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates, as permitted by the Andhra Pradesh government.
3. Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks, and a completed or final-year 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4. Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks, and a completed or final-year 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
5. According to August 2010 NCTE guidelines, candidates qualified before August 2010 remain eligible under the previously stated criteria.
6. Graduates (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com) who have completed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education are eligible.
Upper Primary Teachers
1. Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com) with at least 45% marks and a completed or final-year 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.
2. ST/SC/Differently-abled candidates receive a 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks at the Senior Secondary level.
3. State government-approved relaxations for qualifying marks apply to ST/SC/BC/Differently-abled candidates regarding their Bachelor's degree.
4. Candidates who did not meet the percentage requirement in their Bachelor's degree but hold a Post-Graduation degree in relevant subjects are eligible to apply for Paper 2(a) and 2(b).
5. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com graduates with at least 50% marks and a completed or final-year 1-year B.Ed Special Education course are eligible.

- The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the Elementary level for Paper-II (A) Physical Education Pedagogy for Paper-II (B) will focus on the Elementary level.
- As Language-I other than Language teachers have to choose between Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odiya, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X.
- The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.
- Language Teachers have to choose the Language of their study in Pandit Training concerned under Language-I of TET Paper II-(A).
- For Physical Education Teacher a candidate has to choose one among five Languages Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Odiya, and Kannada as Language I of TET Paper-II (B).
