HPSC PGT Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure for PGT candidates is divided into two primary phases: a comprehensive written examination followed by a personal interview.

• Written Test will be conducted in two stages 1st stage is the Screening Test, and the second stage is the Subject Knowledge Test.
• The second round is an interview round; candidates who are shortlisted in the written test will be called for the personal interview round.

HPSC PGT Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination process comprises two distinct stages: an initial screening test followed by a subject-specific knowledge test.

Screening Test

1. The screening test will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks.
2. Each questions have 5 options, if candidates don’t know the answer, they should mark the 5th option. If a candidate marks any option, then they will be penalised 0.25 negative marking.
3. The total duration of the exam is 2 Hours.
4. One-fourth arks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Subject Knowledge Test

1. Subject specific test will consist of 150 marks.
2. The duration of the exam is 3 Hours.
3. The language of the question paper will be English.
4. The weightage of the subject knowledge test is 87.5%.
