IARI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Only candidates meeting the specified educational qualifications and age limits are eligible to apply for these positions. Detailed requirements are listed below.

IARI Assistant Nationality 

To be eligible for the Assistant post, a candidate must be one of the following:

a) A citizen of India,

b) A citizen of Nepal,

c) A citizen of Bhutan,

d) A Tibetan refugee settled in India prior to 1st January 1962,

e) A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries (including Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.) with the intention of permanent residency.

IARI Assistant Education Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Those with degrees featuring CGPA conversion formulas must be prepared to submit official documentation during the verification phase.

IARI Assistant Age Limit 

The age criteria for ICAR IARI Assistant applicants is set between 20 and 30 years. Serving regular ICAR employees may be eligible for age relaxation up to 45 years.

IARI Assistant 2026 Selection Process

Selection for the Assistant role involves a three-stage competitive process: Prelims, Mains, and a Computer Proficiency Test (Skill Test). Candidates qualifying through the Prelims and Mains phases will be invited for the final skill assessment.

Minimum qualifying marks for the Preliminary and Mains examinations will be determined as per the official notification standards.

1. There will be 100 MCQ in IARI Assistant Prelims Exam for 2 marks each.
2. There will be a negative marking for 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer.
3. Each section consists of 25 questions.
4. The duration of completing the prelims exam is 1 hour and for scribe candidates, the duration is 1 hour 20 minutes.

1. IARI Assistant Mains Exam consists of Paper-I will be objective type and Paper-II will be descriptive.
