ICAR IARI Assistant Selection Process

Candidates must qualify through three distinct stages to be shortlisted for the Assistant positions under the IARI Assistant Recruitment 2026 cycle. The selection stages are outlined below: 

Stage 1- Preliminary Examination

Stage 2- Mains Examination

Stage 3- Skill Test (Computer Proficiency Test)

ICAR IARI Assistant Minimum Qualifying Marks

The minimum qualifying marks required for the Preliminary and Mains examinations are as follows:

ICAR IARI Assistant Exam Pattern 2026

The authorities conduct two written tests (Prelims and Mains). Candidates must qualify in each to proceed to the final Skill Test. Review the detailed IARI Exam Pattern, marking scheme, and time duration for every stage in the section below.

ICAR IARI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

1. There will be 100 MCQ in IARI Assistant Prelims Exam for 2 marks each.
2. There will be a negative marking for 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer.
3. Each section consists of 25 questions.
4. The duration of completing the prelims exam is 1 hour and for scribe candidates, the duration is 1 hour 20 minutes.

ICAR IARI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2026

1. IARI Assistant Mains Exam consists of Paper-I will be objective type and Paper-II will be descriptive.
2. The time duration for Paper-1 is 2 hours and for Paper-II duration is 1 hour.
3. In the descriptive paper, there would be questions related to the writing of the essay, precis, letter, applications etc.

ICAR IARI Assistant Skill Test

Candidates who successfully clear the Prelims and Mains will qualify for the IARI Assistant Skill Test (Computer Proficiency Test). This 15-minute test is qualifying in nature and consists of three essential modules: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Slide Presentation generation.
