ISRO SAC 2026 Application Fees

ISRO SAC Scientist/Engineer Selection Process

Shortlisting for Scientist and Engineer roles is conducted through a competitive written exam and a subsequent personal interview. Only those who achieve the qualifying marks in the written phase will be invited to the interview stage.

Stage 1: Written Examination – The offline written test comprises three sections: Part A (Discipline-specific), Part B (Aptitude), and Part C (Descriptive). Please note that Part C is specifically required for M.E./M.Tech-based applicants.

Stage 2: Personal Interview – Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their performance in the written test. The final merit list will be determined by combining the results of both the written examination and the personal interview.

ISRO SAC Scientist/Engineer Exam Pattern 2026

The structure of the ISRO Scientist/Engineer examination is outlined as follows:

Part A: Discipline-Specific Technical Questions

  • There are 80 multiple-choice questions for 80 marks. for M.Sc based recruitment and 60 MCQs for M.E. and M.Tech.-based recruitment.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer.

Part B: General Aptitude Test

  • There are 15 objective-type questions asked for 20 marks
  • In this section negative marking is not applicable.

Part C: Descriptive Technical Assessment

  • A descriptive paper will be conducted for M.E. and M.Tech based recruitments. The questions will be asked from a discipline-specific perspective.
