Eligibility

  1. Citizenship- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Educational Qualification- It is necessary to pass a Graduation or its equivalent examination from a recognised university.
  3. Age Limit (as on 10/11/2025)- Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 25 years (for the general category).
  4. Age Relaxation- up to a maximum of 5 years will be given for OBC, SC, ST and as per State Government rules.
  5. Gender Eligibility Subedar and SI (GD-Other than SAF) – Both men and women can apply. – SI (GD-SAF) – Only male candidates are eligible.
  6. Other Conditions- The candidate must have all the required certificates (like age, education, caste etc.) available by 10th November 2025.
  7. Family Norms- Candidates having more than two living children, any one of whom was born after January 26, 2001, will not be eligible for appointment.
  8. Physical Standards- There are different physical standards (height, chest, running etc.) set for men and women, which will be checked in the selection process.

Exam Pattern

The selection process involves two written examination stages: preliminary and mains. Candidates must pass the preliminary exam to qualify for the mains. Note that marks from the preliminary exam are not included in the final merit calculation.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Qualified written exam candidates will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which accounts for 100 marks. The PET consists of an 800-meter race (40 marks), the long jump (30 marks), and the shot-put throw (30 marks).
