The MP Police SI selection process encompasses several stages: Prelims, Mains, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Interview, and Document Verification (DV). While the Prelims exam serves as a qualifying round, the final merit list is compiled based on the aggregate scores from the Mains examination, PET, and Interview. This stage is a multiple-choice examination comprising 100 questions, with a time limit of 2 hours. Notably, there is no negative marking, and the marks obtained in this exam are not considered for the final selection.

MP Police SI Mains Exam Pattern 2026

Successful candidates from the preliminary exam will advance to the Mains examination. The pattern for the Mains exam is detailed below.

• Paper I has two sections, with 150 marks for each section. Both sections include objective-type questions, and all questions are compulsory. There will be negative markings for incorrect answers. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
• Paper II also has two sections: Section A (150 marks) will have objective-type questions, and all questions are compulsory, with negative marking for wrong answers and Section B (150 marks) focuses on reasoning and data interpretation, with objective-type questions, all compulsory, and negative marking for incorrect answers. The duration of completion the exam is 2 hours.

MP Police SI Physical Proficiency Test

Based on performance in the Mains and technical examinations, candidates (up to three times the number of vacancies) will be invited for the Physical Proficiency Test (PET) and Interview. The PET is a compulsory assessment for all qualified candidates, comprising various events and carrying a total of 100 marks.
