This year, SBI will conduct a written examination to shortlist eligible candidates for 1,750 apprentice positions. The final selection of candidates for the apprenticeship engagement is subject to the comprehensive selection criteria for SBI Apprentice 2026, which consists of:

1. Online written examination
2. Test of the local language
3. Medical Examination

SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern 2026

Candidates must carefully review the detailed syllabus for the SBI Apprentice Exam 2026 to ensure complete coverage of all subjects.  

1. There will be 100 multiple-choice questions in the SBI Apprentice online examination.
2. The duration of the test will be 1 hour and there will be a separate timing for each test i.e. 15 minutes for each section.
3. The questions will be in bilingual (English & Hindi) except for the questions of General English. Except for the test of General English, Test questions for Written examination shall be set in 13 Regional Languages viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu , Urdu in addition to English and Hindi Language.
4. There will be a negative marking for incorrect answers. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Candidates are required to secure the minimum qualifying marks determined by the bank. A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates.

Test of Local Language

Proficiency in the local language is a mandatory component of the SBI Apprentice 2026 selection procedure. Candidates applying for a specific state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in that state's designated language. Candidates possessing a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet or certificate proving they studied the specified local language are exempt from the language proficiency test.
