  a) After completion of SSLC and Higher Secondary course in the order of 10+2+3 / 4 / 5 pattern (OR)
  b) After completion of SSLC and Diploma in the order of 10+3+2 / 10+3+3 pattern (OR)
  c) After completion of SSLC and 2 years ITI in the order of 10+2+3 pattern

Age Limit

The selection process for Sub-Inspector (SI) candidates consists of several performance-based stages:

TNUSRB SI 2026 Exam Pattern

For Open Candidates

• The written exam comprises two parts: Part 1 for the Tamil Eligibility Test and Part 2 for the Mains Written Exam.
• Candidates must score 40 marks in Part 1 (the Tamil eligibility test) and 25 marks (35%) in Part 2.
• The duration of Part 1 is 1 hour 40 minutes, and the duration of Part 2 is 2½ hours.
• The Tamil Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature, while the Main Written Examination is scoring.

For Departmental Candidates

• The written exam comprises two parts: Part 1 for the Tamil Eligibility Test and Part 2 for the Mains Written Exam.
• Candidates must score 40 marks in Part 1 (the Tamil eligibility test) and 30 marks (35%) in Part 2.
• The duration of Part 1 is 1 hour 40 minutes and the duration of Part 2 is 3 hours.
• The Tamil Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature, while the Main Written Examination is scoring.

TNUSRB SI Salary Structure

Selected Sub-Inspectors will receive a competitive salary package, with basic pay ranging from Rs. 36,900 to Rs. 1,16,600 per month, supplemented by additional benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Provident Fund (PF), and comprehensive medical coverage.

TNUSRB SI 2026 Cut Off 

The official cut-off marks for both the Tamil language paper and the Main Examination will be declared on the official TNUSRB website post-examination. Candidates meeting the minimum cut-off requirements will progress to the Physical Efficiency Test, with the final merit list determined after document verification.
