The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) has announced 1,299 vacancies for the Sub-Inspector (SI) role. Upon clearing the written examination, candidates must undergo the multi-stage physical assessment. The TNUSRB selection process includes the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and the Endurance Test (ET), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Only candidates who successfully clear both the PMT and PET will be considered for the position of Sub-Inspector.

Rounding off of Height and Chest Measurements:

To minimize measurement variances, physical standards such as height and chest circumference will be rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm, as per board guidelines.

The same standard rounding procedure applies to chest measurements for male applicants and height measurements for female candidates during the physical evaluation.

The Endurance Test is mandatory and serves as a qualifying barrier. Only those who pass this test are eligible to proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) accounts for 15 marks in the overall selection process. If a candidate fails an event in the PET, they receive zero marks for that segment and may be disqualified from continuing further, depending on the board's specific policy.

Physical Standards for Male Candidates:

• Three chances will be given to male candidates in rope climbing, and it is mandatory to attend.
• Three attempts will be given for the Long Jump or High Jump. The highest score will be considered for the qualification.
• Male candidates have only one chance for the 100-meter or 400-meter run.

Physical Standards for Female/Transgender Candidates:

• Female/Transgender candidates have three chances to attempt the Long jump and Shotput / Cricket ball throw.
• Female/Transgender candidates also have only one chance for the 100-meter or 200-meter run.

Physical Standards for Ex-Servicemen and Serving Personnel:

• Three chances will be given for Shotput (7.26 kg) and Long Jump or  High Jump.
• Only one chance will be given for the 100-meter or 400-meter.
