WB SET Exam Pattern 2026

The WB SET Exam 2026 is conducted in two sessions on a single day. The test comprises entirely objective-type, multiple-choice questions designed to evaluate comprehensive subject proficiency.

• Paper 1 will consist of 50 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The questions will be of a general nature, intended to assess the teaching, research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.
• Paper 2 will consist of 100 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks, which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. The time duration for the exam will be 2 hours, and there will be no negative marking.
