Common questions regarding online exam photo resizing, signature compression, passport updates, and image upload errors.
To comply with global ICAO biometric passport specifications, the Ministry of External Affairs adopted the 35×45 mm format (digital resolution: 630×810 pixels at 300 DPI, 10–250 KB file size) with a pure white background and no spectacles. This replaces the older 2×2 inch (51×51 mm) square format.
The US DS-160 visa portal strictly enforces: (1) 600×600 pixel square dimension, (2) file size between 51 KB and 240 KB in JPEG format, (3) pure white background with neutral facial expression, and (4) NO glasses/spectacles. Our tool presets the exact 600×600 px and 240 KB limit automatically.
Signatures are most commonly rejected due to: (1) exceeding the 20 KB maximum limit, (2) dark or shadow-filled background instead of clean white paper, (3) using capital block letters instead of running handwriting, or (4) blurry low-resolution compression. Our tool solves this with automatic white background cleaning and sharpness preservation.
UPSC, NTA NEET, and various State Public Service Commissions mandate that passport photographs must not be older than 10 to 90 days. Printing the candidate's name and the date of taking the photograph (DOP) at the bottom certifies that the photo is recent.
