AFCAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Below are the specific eligibility requirements for candidates applying to the Ground Duty and Flying Branch positions under AFCAT 2 2026.
(A) AFCAT Age Limit (as on 01/06/2027)
(i) Flying Branch (including NCC Special Entry): Candidates must be between 20 and 24 years old as of 01 January 2027 (born between 02 January 2003 and 01 January 2007). Those holding a current DGCA-issued Commercial Pilot License may be eligible up to 26 years of age.
(ii) Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: Candidates must be between 20 and 26 years old as of 01 January 2027 (born between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2007).
Note: Only unmarried candidates are eligible at the time of course commencement. Marriage during the training period is strictly prohibited, and violation of this rule will lead to discharge and a mandatory refund of government expenses.
(B) AFCAT Educational Qualification
Academic Eligibility Criteria for Flying Branch:
Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level, OR
Possess a three-year degree from a recognized university with at least 60% aggregate marks, OR
Hold a four-year BE/B.Tech degree from a recognized university with at least 60% aggregate marks, OR
Candidates who have successfully cleared Sections A and B of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India with at least 60% marks.
Academic Eligibility Criteria for Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
(i) Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics/Mechanical): Candidates must have scored at least 60% in both Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, plus an Engineering degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

Step 1: Complete New Registration
- Click on the link provided below or visit the official website https://afcat.edcil.co.in/.
- A new page will appear. New Users will have to register first.
- Click on New User Register.
- A new page will appear to enter your mobile no. and email to register yourself.
- An OTP will be sent to your mobile no. and email, fill and click on “Submit”.
- A Login Id and Password will be sent to your registered mobile no. and email id.
Step 2: Log in and Fill Application Details
- Login using the Registration Number and Password. Select the post.
- Fill up other details such as educational qualifications etc. depending upon the educational qualification of the candidate.
- Pay the examination fee as applicable, online using a Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking
- Candidates are required to upload their scanned color photograph and Signature (in English or in Hindi) in JPEG format.

AFCAT 2026 Selection Process
Successful candidates from the written exam will receive call letters to attend the second phase of selection, known as AFSB Testing.
AFSB Testing Stage 1
The AFSB selection process includes two distinct stages:
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test.
- Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)
Stage 1 consists of a screening test. Candidates who do not qualify at this stage are not permitted to proceed to Stage 2.
AFSB Testing Stage 2

AFCAT 2026 Salary
1. Cadets receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100 during their final year of training.
2. Upon successful commissioning, officers are placed at Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix [Rs. 56,100–1,10,700].
3. A monthly Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500 is provided.
Additional Allowances:
