OPSC OCS 2026 Eligibility

Education Qualification

  • Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject;

Age Limit (as on 1/01/2025)

The age criteria for applicants is 21 to 38 years as of January 1, 2025; candidates must have been born between January 2, 1983, and January 1, 2004. Reserved categories are eligible for age relaxations as per government mandates.

OPSC OCS 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure for the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2026 for Group A and Group B vacancies comprises three distinct phases: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Personality Test/Interview.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination: This phase serves as a screening test; scores obtained in this round are not calculated for the final merit ranking.

Stage 2 – Mains Examination: Only candidates who successfully clear the OPSC OCS Preliminary examination will qualify for the Main Examination.

Eligible candidates appearing for the Civil Services Examination are permitted a maximum of 06 (six) attempts, subject to the following provisions:

(i) There is no restriction on the number of attempts for S.C. and S.T. candidates.

(ii) Candidates from Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) are permitted 09 (nine) attempts, provided they are eligible for the respective reservation benefits.
