OPSC OCS 2026 Eligibility

Applicants must thoroughly review the eligibility standards for Group A and Group B posts as outlined in the OPSC OCS Notification 2026. Failure to meet these requirements will lead to the disqualification of the application form and subsequent rejection of candidacy.

Education Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent institution approved under section 3 of the UGC Act. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the Odia language.

• Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language or a subject;
• Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject;
• Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of class 8th in school or an educational institute

Age Limit (as on 1/01/2025)

The age criteria for applicants is 21 to 38 years as of January 1, 2025; candidates must have been born between January 2, 1983, and January 1, 2004. Reserved categories are eligible for age relaxations as per government mandates.

A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- is required to submit the OPSC OCS 2026 examination form. Payments must be processed online through authorized channels, including net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI.

OPSC OCS 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure for the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2026 for Group A and Group B vacancies comprises three distinct phases: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Personality Test/Interview.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination: This phase serves as a screening test; scores obtained in this round are not calculated for the final merit ranking.

Stage 2 – Mains Examination: Only candidates who successfully clear the OPSC OCS Preliminary examination will qualify for the Main Examination.

Stage 3 – Personality Test/Interview: Candidates who achieve the required qualifying marks in the mains examination will be invited for the final interview round.

Stage 4 – Final Merit List: The final selection of candidates is determined based on the cumulative scores secured in both the Mains Examination and the Personality Test.

Number of Attempts

Eligible candidates appearing for the Civil Services Examination are permitted a maximum of 06 (six) attempts, subject to the following provisions:

Provided that:

(i) There is no restriction on the number of attempts for S.C. and S.T. candidates.

(ii) Candidates from Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) are permitted 09 (nine) attempts, provided they are eligible for the respective reservation benefits.

OPSC OCS Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

• The Preliminary Examination will consist of 02 papers of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• Each paper consists of 200 marks.
• The exam will be divided into 2 papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) of 2 hours each.
• Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and candidates are required to score above 33% to qualify for the main exam.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

OPSC OCS Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive a competitive monthly salary, supplemented by various allowances and benefits. As per the ORSP Rules, 2027, Group A appointees will receive a salary of Rs. 56,100/-, while Group B roles will be compensated at Rs. 44,900/- (Pay Level 12, Cell-1).
