OPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
While the marks secured in the Preliminary Examination are not included in the final merit calculation, qualifying is mandatory. It serves as a crucial screening stage to select eligible candidates for the OPSC OCS Mains examination.
- Odisha Civil Service Prelims Exam consists of 2 General Studies papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates have to appear for both papers.
- A minimum of 33% marks is required to qualify for GS Paper 2, and for GS Paper 1, the qualifying marks will be decided by the commission.
- There shall be 200 questions (Objective type) in each paper, and the duration for each Paper is 2 hours (120 minutes).
- For each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded, and each wrong answer results in a ⅓rd mark (0.33) deduction.
