SSC CPO 2026 Eligibility

To qualify for SSC CPO Recruitment 2026, applicants must strictly adhere to the defined eligibility criteria. Candidates must meet three core requirements to be eligible for the application. See the sections below for full details:  

SSC CPO SI Nationality/ Citizenship

Candidates must meet the following nationality requirements:

1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. A person belonging to categories 2 and 3 who holds a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
5. Candidates requiring an eligibility certificate may sit for the exam; however, the offer of appointment will only be issued once the necessary documentation is provided to the Government of India.

SSC CPO SI Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification for Sub-Inspector (GD) in Delhi Police & CAPFs: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

For the post of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Males only): Male candidates are required to hold a valid LMV (Motorcycle and Car) Driving License as of the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Failure to possess this license will disqualify candidates from the physical testing phase.

SSC CPO SI Age Limit

The age limit for applicants is set between 20 and 25 years.

SSC CPO 2026 Application Fee

Mode of Payment: Online only (via Net Banking, Credit/Debit cards, BHIM, UPI, etc.).

The application fee for male candidates in the General and OBC categories is Rs. 100/-. Female candidates and applicants from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservations are exempt from the fee. All payments must be processed online.

SSC CPO 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure comprises four distinct phases. Candidates first appear for Paper 1 (Computer-Based Test), followed by the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Those who qualify progress to Paper 2 (English Comprehension) and finally the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Qualifying in each successive stage is mandatory.

SSC CPO 2026 Exam Pattern

1. Questions asked in both paper-1 and paper-2 will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type.
2. Questions asked in Paper 1 will be bilingual, i.e. in both Hindi and English, while questions in Paper 2 will be only in the English.
3. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer marked by a candidate for both Paper 1 & 2.
4. The total time duration is 2 hours, with a sectional timer of 30 minutes for each part.
