SSC GD Exam Pattern 2026

  1. The exam will be conducted in online mode.
  2. The questions will be of a multiple-choice-based/Objective type.
  3. The CBT test consists of 4 sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/ Hindi.
  4. There will be 80 MCQS in total (20 MCQs in each section).
  5. The time duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour), and there is no sectional timing.
  6. Total marks for the SSC GD CBT Exam are 160 (2 marks for each correct answer).
  7. A penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer will be imposed.
  8. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 Regional languages, viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

SSC GD Qualifying Marks

The commission has established minimum qualifying marks for the SSC GD Constable CBT. Candidates who meet or exceed these thresholds will be shortlisted for the subsequent Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The category-wise qualifying criteria are as follows:

SSC GD Constable PET Details

Candidates securing marks above the official cut-off for the SSC GD Computer Based Examination will be invited to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), following the standards set by the SSC.

Note: Pregnancy at the time of the Physical Test is considered a disqualification; female candidates who are pregnant will be rejected at this stage. Ex-servicemen who qualify the Computer Based Examination are only required to appear for the PET/PST stage to record physical measurements (height, chest, and weight) and are exempt from the physical running tests. However, they must still qualify for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
