SSC CGL 2026 Selection Process

The SSC employs a two-tier SSC CGL selection process to shortlist candidates for the various Group B and C positions in the 2026 recruitment.

Stage 1 (Tier-I): A computer-based examination that serves as a qualifying test.

Stage 2 (Tier-II): Consists of Paper I (mandatory for all), Paper II (for Junior Statistical Officer applicants), and Paper III (for Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer applicants).

The final selection is determined by merit and the candidate's post-preference. Once a post has been allotted by the Commission, no requests for changes will be entertained.

Q. Is there a limit on the number of attempts for SSC CGL?
Ans: No, there is no cap on the number of attempts as long as candidates remain within the prescribed upper age limit.

Ans: With cut-off marks generally falling between 150-160, a score of 140 is considered a "Decent Score" but may not guarantee a top-tier position.
