The Delhi Police Constable recruitment drive offers 7,565 total openings (5,069 for males and 2,496 for females). The category-wise distribution of these vacancies is detailed in the table below.

Ans: A total of 2,496 vacancies are specifically reserved for female applicants in the Delhi Police Constable recruitment.

Delhi Police Recruitment 2026- Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SSC Delhi Police Constable examination, candidates must meet the following four primary criteria:

1) Nationality/ Citizenship

Candidates must be citizens of India.

2) Education Qualification (as on 21/10/2025)

Candidates must have successfully passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination from a recognized educational board by the closing date for online applications.

The 10+2 requirement is relaxable to 11th pass only for the following groups:

i) Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc., specifically serving in the Delhi Police.

ii) Sons of serving, deceased, or retired police personnel, including Multi-Tasking Staff of the Delhi Police.

3) Age limit (as on 01/07/2025)

The age requirement for candidates is between 18 and 25 years. Applicants should have been born between 02-07-2000 and 01-07-2007. Upper age limit relaxations apply as follows:

(i) Up to 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.

(ii) Up to 3 years for candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.

iii) Up to 5 years for distinguished sportspersons who have represented a State at the National level or the Country at the International level within the last three years.

iv) For departmental candidates of the Delhi Police, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 40 years for General (UR), 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC/ST categories.

v) An upper age limit relaxation of up to 29 years applies to sons of serving, retired, or deceased police personnel or Multi-Tasking Staff of the Delhi Police.

4) Essential Requirement

A valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle or Car) is mandatory for male candidates applying for the Constable (Executive) position in the Delhi Police as of the date of the PE&MT. Note that a learner's license is not considered valid.

Delhi Police Constable 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for the Delhi Police Constable examination is Rs. 100. Female candidates, as well as those belonging to SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen categories, are exempted from this fee. Payments must be made via online channels, including Net-Banking, Credit/Debit cards, or BHIM UPI.

Delhi Police Constable 2026 Exam Structure

The SSC will conduct the Computer-Based Examination nationwide. This test will be available in both Hindi and English.

1. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) consists of 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks. The total time allotted for the examination is 90 minutes.

2. There is a negative marking scheme, with 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect response.

3. The paper is at the matriculation level, with a difficulty distribution of 30% easy questions, 50% medium-level, and 20% difficult questions.

4. To qualify for the physical test, candidates must secure minimum marks: 35% for General, 30% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS, and 25% for Ex-servicemen in the aggregate score of the CBE.

Reasoning Syllabus

Reasoning ability and analytical aptitude will be assessed through non-verbal type questions, including analogies, spatial visualization, coding-decoding, number series, and relationship concepts.

Numerical Ability Syllabus

The numerical ability section covers number systems, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios, averages, interest, profit and loss, mensuration, and time-related problems.

General Knowledge/Current Affairs Syllabus

The syllabus for General Knowledge and Current Affairs is designed to test general awareness, scientific aspects of everyday observations, and knowledge expected of an educated individual.

Questions will cover India and its neighbouring countries, focusing on history, culture, sports, geography, economy, polity, and scientific research. No specialized study of these disciplines is required.

Computer Syllabus

The computer fundamentals section covers MS Excel, MS Word, Internet, and web browsing, including the following:

1. Word processing basics, including creating documents, formatting text, and presentation features.

2. MS Excel: Spreadsheet elements, cell editing, and the use of functions and formulas.

3. Communication: Basics of email, including sending/receiving and related functions.

4. Internet, WWW, and Web Browsers: URL, HTTP, FTP, websites, blogs, search engines, video conferencing, and e-banking.
